COURSE DESCRIPTION

This unit describes the outcomes required to assist a person suffering an anaphylactic reaction until the arrival of medical assistance. Application of this unit relates to the use of adrenaline auto-injecting devices, (e.g. EpiPen).

The unit covers the recognition, management, prevention and risk minimisation strategies related to allergic reactions and anaphylaxis. It provides the outcomes required to develop and implement a management plan to reduce the risk of severe reactions in individuals diagnosed with anaphylaxis.

REFRESHER COURSE

A refresher course is available if you hold a current 2300VIC Course in First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis certificate in this case there is no pre course theory to complete. 

PRE COURSE LEARNING

Our course is blended with a pre-course theory component which will be mailed out to you. This must be completed prior to attending the face to face component of the course.

COURSE TIMES

Face to face training is approx. 2 hours and starts at 9am

Please bring some paper and a pen if you wish to take notes. You are welcome to bring your lunch or you can purchase it at the Club.

22282VIC – Course in the Management of Asthma Risks and Emergencies in the Workplace

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This unit of competency provides the skills and knowledge to be able to handle asthma emergency situations in the workplace. It provides background knowledge of the causes, symptoms and effects of asthma as well as emergency treatment.
