COVID19 Update

First Aid Courses are still running

Dear Customers,

As we are facing this international health crisis with the COVID-19, we have looked very seriously at facilitating courses in the current health environment and implemented strict hygiene protocols. I would like to inform you that our public and onsite first aid courses are still running.

We have now incorporated a section in our course that teach you best practice when it comes to hygiene and infection control.

I feel it is important to continue delivering CPR, Defibrillator and First Aid courses as there are still numerous medical emergencies and thousands of Australians suffering cardiac events monthly.
I would also like to personally assure you that we are committed to hygiene, social distancing and safety in our CPR and First Aid courses, and feel we have eliminated the risks with our current hygiene practices.

We will ask at time of Booking:

  • Do you feel sick or have flu-like symptoms? If so, do not attend our face to face course and self-isolate.
  • If a person turns up for a course with flu-like symptoms or a temperature, they cannot attend the course until they are in good health.
  • Have you travelled internationally in the past month?  If the answer is yes, you cannot attend our course for 14 days from the time of arriving in Australia.

CPR and First Aid are nationally recognised training courses and have practical skills. Some of these skills require students to be assessed doing an activity. We cannot compromise the integrity of our assessments, but have simply made some reasonable adjustments during the assessment, as requested from ASQA – our governing body. In addition to our standard measures we have implemented the following:
All participants and staff to wash their hands frequently with soap and water
We have provided hand sanitiser for all students
All participants and staff to cough or sneeze into the bend of their arm and avoid touching their face
We have provided alcohol wipes for use on equipment and surfaces
Course numbers have been reduced to meet the government requirement of 1 person per 4sqm
All equipment (including furniture, handles and bathrooms) will be thoroughly cleaned with disinfectant wipes before and after training
Each student to use hand sanitiser and gloves when conducting practical activities
Bandaging techniques will be practiced on yourself instead of other students
No face to face contact when performing the CPR assessment on a manikin, 2 breaths can be practiced off to the side of the manikin
1 Manikin per student will be provided
Minimal touching where possible in practical assessments
As a family-owned and operated Training and Assessment Business, we have taken the advice of the Australian Prime Minister and continued to keep the ‘business as usual’ attitude, with these new protocols.
I appreciate your patience and support. The health and well being of our customers, team members and the overall community are paramount and we are committed to ensuring a healthy and safe environment.
